UNAIDS launches new global AIDS strategy 2026-2031

The new global strategy aims to consolidate international efforts to eliminate AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. It also envisions sustaining HIV response measures beyond this period.

The Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) has tasked UNAIDS with developing the new strategy. It will serve as the foundation for the upcoming UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting and its corresponding political declaration. This document will serve as a logical continuation of the current 2021–2026 strategy and its key targets. UNAIDS plays a crucial role in developing global goals and approaches to achieving the ultimate eradication of AIDS.
