In October 2026, Prague (Czech Republic) will host the 14th International Conference of the International Network on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU 2026) — one of the largest global events dedicated to the health of people who use injecting and other drugs and related infectious risks such as HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, tuberculosis, and other consequences of drug use.
The conference will take place from October 6 to 9 at the Clarion Congress Hotel in the Czech capital, which has a long history of fighting infections and is one of Europe’s leading centers for harm reduction models and services for people who use drugs.
The organizers promise a rich program with over 300 sessions covering four key areas: epidemiology and public health, clinical research, social sciences and policy, and care models and support programs. Participants from different countries will be able to hear discussions on the latest research, practical solutions, policy approaches, and real-life stories, as well as take part in plenary presentations, interactive workshops, discussion sessions, and poster presentations. Priority is given to the equal representation of the voices of researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, activists, and people with lived experience, allowing scientific data to be combined with real-life experience.
The organizers have already opened the call for abstracts (short scientific and practical reports) with deadlines for the first stage until March 1, 2026, as well as the opportunity to apply for scholarships that support the participation of representatives from low- and middle-income countries, program workers, policymakers, and people with personal experience, until April 19, 2026. This initiative is designed to provide broader access to the conference for those working in health care and harm reduction who may not have sufficient resources to participate.
INHSU 2026 positions itself as a unique platform for collaboration between those seeking to improve the health and rights of people who use drugs, offering a space for the exchange of knowledge, experience, practical tools, and policy approaches that can make a real difference in different regions of the world.
