Eurasian Women’s AIDS Network presented the study “Women, HIV and COVID-19 in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Impact of COVID-19 on Women Living with HIV and Vulnerable to HIV in EECA Countries. The research was launched last June among women in 10 countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
According to the authors, the study is unique in that it is organized and conducted by the women’s community, and it has a clear focus on marginalized women in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region, including women living with HIV, women who use drugs, sex workers, LB and trans- women.

The report was analyzed, systematized and prepared by Dasha Matyushina-Ocheret and Svetlana Moroz”.
The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, quarantine measures, self-isolation and other restrictions affecting the access of women living with HIV and women from key populations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) to sexual and reproductive health, realization of rights and freedoms, HIV treatment, prevention and protection from gender-based violence.
